We went to the trash dump on Monday.  It was a good visit.  We spent quite a bit of time there and met many, many people.

MAD has partnered with a church that comes out to the trash dump regularly and MAD supplies the funds for the food that they give.  When they saw our bus, they came running and lined up immediately.  They were lining up to receive milk and bread.  This is a very welcome gift for these men, women and children who often go without anything.

It is hard to describe the experience: the smell, the smoke from the fires, the filth, and the hopelessness clearly visible as these men and women, children of all ages, and even several pregnant mothers compete with the dogs, pigs, and hundreds of vultures for food.

We are here to love them, not just give them food and gifts.  We have looked in their eyes and and told them that we love them, but even more important, God loves them.
