Today the team took all 40 children (with the exception of 3) on a
two hour greyhound bus ride to Joao Pessoa where the children got to
swim at the beach for the very first time. None of the children had
ever ridden on a bus before and the large majority had never even
seen a beach. Unfortunately, some of them didn't handle the bus too
well and lost their breakfast on the way. (That wasn't the best
part of the trip.) What was awesome was to watch them play and swim
and have the time of their lives. Thanks so much for supporting
MAD, today we all made a real difference. This is a day these
children will never ever forget and it is all because of people like
you who give to MAD. The team and children had lunch at a little
restaurant on the beach and then swam some more. The ride
home was wonderful and the kids were just great.
One casualty from
the trip was David's glasses. He turned to run from a wave and
lost his glasses to the ocean. They were never to be found.
Keep him in your prayers as there is still a lot of trip left to be
without your glasses.
